V Recordings, the seminal Drum & Bass label, is thrilled to announce the release of a brand new single, 'Control', a collaboration between the acclaimed vocalist Riya, the dynamic Subten, and the Brazilian maestro L-Side.
'Control' is a Jungle-tinged summer Drum & Bass roller that perfectly encapsulates the vibrant energy and spirit of the genre. With Riya's captivating lead vocals and Subten's powerful verses, the track is a testament to the artists' combined creativity and talent. L-Side's production brings the track to life, creating a soundscape that is both fresh and nostalgic, a nod to the roots of Drum & Bass.
Riya has one of the most recognisable voices in D&B and having worked with everyone from Lenzman & Hybrid Minds to Enei, S.P.Y & Break. She previously appears on V alongside Alibi & Paul T & Edward Oberon, but 'Control' marks her debut single on the label. Subten is a veteran of the North London grime scene, and has received support over the years from the likes of DJ Target, Sir Spyro and beyond. Having previously worked with the grime legends Dizzee Rascal and Chip, his D&B debut came in 2021 alongside Whiney on Hospital Records, and he's been making waves in the genre ever since.
This release comes as V ramps up its 30th-anniversary celebrations, a milestone that the label is marking with a series of live shows and festival takeovers throughout the year.
Another class piece from Break. The original was good when it hit. The Bad Company remix was next level and this one to me is a close race for best remix of this classic. This one to me has the most gnarly drop of all. Like his formula is to sneak up on you with the drop and he accomplishes that mission over and over and over again. I've been collecting Break & Silent Witness tracks when I started buying records over 20 years ago.
