Leading on from ‘Heart In Her Hands’ and ‘Passenger’, Carlito continues his Liquid V hot streak with a two track single; Take Me Down / Got It. Stepping away from the previous releases, these two tracks see Carlito focus in on a harder sound whilst ensuring on retaining elements of his signature soulful vibe.
Together with DJ Addiction, he played a vital role in shaping the soulful side of the genre ever since the beginning, with residencies at two London club nights that helped shaped the scene we all know and love today - Speed (later Swerve) and Movement. Therefore there’s no surprise he has the ear for tracks like this, both ‘Take Me Down’ and ‘Got It’ sure tick a lot of boxes.

Another class piece from Break. The original was good when it hit. The Bad Company remix was next level and this one to me is a close race for best remix of this classic. This one to me has the most gnarly drop of all. Like his formula is to sneak up on you with the drop and he accomplishes that mission over and over and over again. I've been collecting Break & Silent Witness tracks when I started buying records over 20 years ago.

So good to see Q Project back again with another release. One of the best producers in the business and this release with a variety of styles just proves that. Nice to see him back with a bit of jungle as well, reminiscent of the early C.I.A days. Hopefully more to come! Paul M
